David Schofield is the founder of Purpose in Action and the creator of PurposeOS — a personal operating system designed to help men install structure, clarity, and accountability into their lives.
His work focuses on supporting men who carry real responsibility — for families, teams, organisations, and outcomes — and who recognise that discipline and structure must precede ambition.
Background & Orientation
David’s background spans business systems design, operational leadership, martial arts discipline, and long-term community work.
Across these environments, he observed a consistent pattern: capable people fail not through lack of intelligence or effort, but through the absence of systems that hold under pressure.
PurposeOS emerged as a practical response to that reality — not as a philosophy or programme, but as infrastructure for a life that must function reliably.
Role & Responsibility
As Founder & Steward, David is responsible for:
- The design and integrity of PurposeOS
- The standards governing its delivery
- The selection and oversight of delivery partners
- Ensuring the work remains grounded in reality, not ideology
He holds final accountability for how the system is taught, applied, and evolved.
How the Work Is Applied
Alongside PurposeOS, David works selectively in operational leadership contexts, supporting founders and leadership teams as a fractional COO or systems lead.
This organisational work draws on the same principles that underpin PurposeOS: structure before optimisation, rhythm before intensity, responsibility before expansion.
At every level, the emphasis is the same — build systems that make disciplined action the default.
This work operates within lawful, ethical, responsibility-based frameworks. It is not a movement or belief system, but a structured approach to leadership and execution.
