Purpose in Action exists to help capable people bring order to complexity — in their lives, their work, and the systems they’re responsible for.
Over more than a decade of coaching, consulting, and operational leadership, I saw the same pattern repeat: intelligent, driven people burning out not from lack of effort, but from lack of structure.
They didn’t need more motivation. They needed a way of operating that actually held under pressure.
Why PurposeOS Exists
PurposeOS is the distillation of that work.
It is a personal operating system and life management system designed for men who carry real responsibility — for families, teams, organisations, and outcomes.
PurposeOS brings clarity to:

- Money and obligations
- Energy and discipline
- Decision-making under pressure
Before deeper work, before philosophy, and before leadership of others, a man must be able to run his own life properly.
PurposeOS is the public entry point for that work.
How the Work Extends
Alongside PurposeOS, I work selectively in two further contexts.
First, with organisations and leadership teams in an operational capacity, helping them install clarity, accountability, and execution through structured operating systems.
This work is typically carried out as a fractional COO or business systems consultant, supporting founders and teams as they scale without losing control.
Second, some men who demonstrate consistency, discipline, and discretion through their personal work are invited into deeper, private developmental paths focused on standards, responsibility, and long-term leadership.
These paths are not publicly marketed and are entered by invitation only.
What Guides the Work
- Purpose is built, not found. Clarity comes from disciplined action and reflection.
- Order creates freedom. Systems don’t restrict you; they remove noise.
- Leadership begins with self-leadership. You cannot lead others if you cannot lead yourself.
- Standards matter. Growth happens in environments that expect your best.
Who I Am
I’m David Schofield — founder of Purpose in Action, creator of PurposeOS, and initiator of long-term developmental work focused on responsibility and leadership.
My background spans business systems, leadership consulting, martial arts, and community-building — all unified by a focus on discipline, structure, and practical execution.
I’m based in the UK and work with individuals and organisations across the UK and internationally.
